Preparing for Home on 4th August 2008 (Monday)

[Dovey2] We woke up at 6am and well, we didn't really sleep much.
We managed to struggle up and I must say that mydovey is very 'sat"! He was the one who got up and was ready for home.

We went downstairs to the reception and there was a new guy! Dovey talked to him and followed him to get two croissants for us for breakfast. I shall leave it to Dovey to fill us with the details on this new person.

Anyway, this guys said he didn't know that we were leaving today! Anyway, he did the paper work and we paid and left the hotel.

Journey to the airport
We took the subway to "Termini" and then we bought two railway tickets to the airport. It costs about 11 Euros each.

We got a seat and tried to sleep on the train.

We arrived at the airport and we were too early! I made a silly mistake by thinking that "TG 945" which is our flight number to be the time! Sigh....I feel so bad about it.

Anyway, it was good that we were early as we explored the other parts of the airport. We also found that the queue was long and we managed to check in early.

We were informed to go to the custom to do our VAT rebate. It was a long queue with irritating China men and women who were disorganised and noisy! We had packed our bags accordingly and it was quite a breeze. The custom officer didn't really checked that thoroughly. We were worried because we had already worn the H&M clothes that we were not supposed too.

Walking rounds and rounds, we figured that we have to get our bags checked in at another counter of which the people lazed around and were not proficient in English. We had a hard time trying to find out if we should check in at this counter and finally, yes, it was that counter. The people there tried to tell us to go to another place and it confused us.

After that, we 'discovered' the queue to go into the departure hall. The queue was long and disorganised with one queue going to USA and some other two queues which somehow got merged into one. Nevertheless, we asked around and we managed to get into the queue and through the security section.

I was blur and almost forgotten my items as we have a lot of things with us. The cameras, the Furla bags, sweater, cap...etc. We got in and looked for the queue to get our VAT cash back. We queued for one and for the other claim, we had to go to another counter. One China man asked us if he could go first as he said his flight is at 1.20pm and I didn't allow him to. Another China woman came to ask me if that was the queue for VAT rebate and I ignored her. Dovey answered her question and the situation between dovey and me got tensed.

Sigh.

Anyway, we checked in and boarded our plane with the VAT rebates. We had two seats to ourselves. We couldn't sleep and we played the Sudoku which was the hardest ever! Anyway, it was our first time doing it. I didn't want to give up and tried to do it....

We didn't sleep much, it was too difficult to fall to sleep..not that we were excited about going back home, haha.

Anyway, we reach Singapore and Dovey bought alcohol. Then we took a taxi to his house to sleep.

His mum packed the house to welcome us home, so nice of her :) I went home at night.

I shall start the travel blog

We should start our travel blog and I am going to work backwards so that when it displays on this blog, it is in chronological order from Day 1 to Day 20+ of our Italy Trip 2008 :)
